FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
I understand that language and document-related services can sometimes be complex, especially when dealing with legal, academic, or international requirements. Below is a detailed breakdown of the most common questions that I receive about our core services:
🔹 SWORN TRANSLATION SERVICES
1. What is a sworn translation?
A sworn translation is an official translation performed by a translator who has been legally authorized by a government decree to certify the accuracy of a translation. The document includes a signature, seal, and translator’s license number to make it legally valid in Indonesia and often abroad.
2. When do I need a sworn translator?
You will typically need a sworn translation for official purposes such as immigration, court submissions, visa applications, foreign education, business permits, notarial deeds, and embassy requirements.
3. Are your sworn translations accepted by courts, notaries, and embassies?
Yes, my sworn translations are accepted by Indonesian courts, government ministries (Kemenkumham, Kemenlu), notaries, and most foreign embassies.Â
4. How long does it take to complete a sworn translation?
Turnaround time depends on the document length and subject matter. Most 1–5 page documents can be completed within 1–2 working days, while longer or more technical documents may take longer. Express services are available.
5. Will I receive a physical stamped version?
Yes. I provide both a scanned PDF and a physical hard copy with the sworn translator’s stamp and signature. Delivery is available via JNE, Grab, or other courier services.
6. Can I submit a photo of the document for translation?
Yes, as long as the image is clear and complete. However, for best accuracy and layout, I recommend scanned PDFs.
🔹 INTERPRETING SERVICES
1. What types of interpreting do you offer?
I provide consecutive interpreting (speaking after the speaker pauses) and simultaneous interpreting (real-time translation), suitable for meetings, conferences, court proceedings, notarial acts, seminars, and more.
2. Do you offer onsite or remote interpreting?
Both! I offer onsite interpreting for clients in Jabodetabek and other cities (with travel arrangements) as well as remote interpreting via Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams.
3. What languages do you interpret?
Our core interpreting services cover Indonesian, English, Mandarin, and Arabic and many more depending on the availability and nature of the event.
4. How is interpreting charged?
We charge interpreting services per hour, per half-day (up to 4 hours), or per full day (up to 8 hours). Additional fees may apply for travel, overnight stays, or special equipment for simultaneous interpreting.
5. Can you interpret for legal or notarial matters?
Yes. We frequently interpret for notary meetings, court hearings, contract signings, and official ceremonies. We are experienced in handling formal, legal, and sensitive settings.

🔹 APOSTILLE SERVICES
1. What is an apostille?
An apostille is a form of authentication issued under the Hague Convention that certifies the origin of a public document so it can be legally used in another member country.
2. Which documents can be apostilled?
Documents such as birth certificates, academic diplomas, marriage certificates, powers of attorney, and court rulings can be apostilled — provided they are in the correct format and legally issued in Indonesia.
3. Can you help get my document apostilled?
Yes. We can manage the entire process, including sworn translation (if required), notarization, and apostille issuance through the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham).
4. How long does the apostille process take?
It typically takes 3–5 working days, but we offer an express option depending on the current queue and document type.
5. Do I need to be present to get my document apostilled?
No, you do not need to appear in person. You can simply send us the document, and we’ll handle the process on your behalf.

🔹 LEGALIZATION SERVICES (NON-APOSTILLE COUNTRIES)
1. What is legalization, and how is it different from apostille?
Legalization is the traditional method of document authentication for countries not part of the Hague Apostille Convention. It involves stamping your document through multiple institutions: Notary, Kemenkumham, Kemenlu, and the foreign embassy.
2. Can you handle full legalization for my document?
Absolutely. We provide a full-service solution covering sworn translation, notarial services, ministry approvals, and submission to the required embassy.
3. Which countries require legalization instead of apostille?
Some countries like China, UAE, Qatar, Vietnam, and Saudi Arabia still require full legalization. Let us know your destination country, and we’ll guide you accordingly.
4. How long does the legalization process take?
It depends on the embassy’s policy, but generally ranges between 5 to 10 working days. Some embassies may require appointments, additional forms, or ID verification.
🔹 NOTARIAL SERVICES
1. What notarial services do you provide?
We assist with:
Certified True Copies of translated documents
Waarmerking (signature witness)
Drafting and legalizing documents for use abroad
Notarial statements for embassy or visa purposes
2. Do you work with licensed notaries?
Yes. We collaborate with licensed Indonesian notaries to ensure your documents meet legal requirements for domestic or international use.
3. Can you come to the notary with me as an interpreter?
Yes, we offer on-call interpreting support for your notarial meetings, contract signings, or document submissions.
4. Do I need to prepare anything for notarization?
Yes. Please bring original documents, valid identification (KTP, passport), and power of attorney if needed. We will advise you in advance based on your case.
